Summary of Process Communication Model® Personality Types

All six Personality Types are within all of us. We have a Base Personality Type but can access the other five Personality Types with varying amounts of ease. The six Personality Types are:

Harmonizers

  • experience the world through their emotions with guidance from their heart
  • use words like, I feel, I am comfortable with, happy, sad, love, care
  • interact with compassion
  • prize family and friendship
  • are compassionate, sensitive, warm
  • comfort and appearances are important to them
  • like pleasant sights, smells, touches, sounds, tastes
  • want an environment that looks pleasant, melodious, comfortable, and relaxing

Thinkers

  • make contact with the world by gathering data, thinking about it, analyzing it, connecting it, and drawing logical conclusions
  • use words like I think, what are the options, give me the data and time frames, who, what, where, when
  • interact with logic
  • prize data and information
  • are logical, responsible, organized
  • have the ability to take in facts and ideas and synthesize them
  • they are goal and achievement oriented and using time efficiently is important

Rebels

  • make contact with the world through unfiltered likes and dislikes
  • use words like I like it, I don’t like it, I want it, I don’t want it, wow!, sounds like fun!
  • interact with humor
  • prize spontaneity and creativity
  • they like thinking outside of the box
  • are spontaneous, creative, playful
  • have the ability to see humor in almost everything and enjoy the present

Imaginers

  • make contact with the world by reflecting and imagining
  • use words like not sure, wait for more information, hold back, easy pace, my own space, need time to reflect, don’t want to rock the boat
  • interact with imagination
  • prize privacy and their own space
  • are reflective, imaginative, calm
  • have the ability to be introspective
  • like work requiring hand skills

Persisters

  • make contact with the world by evaluating and judging it
  • use words like I believe, in my opinion, we should, respect, commitment, dedication, trust
  • interact with values
  • prize loyalty and commitment
  • are dedicated, conscientious, observant
  • have the ability to share opinions, beliefs, and judgments

Promoters

  • take in the world by experiencing situations and making things happen
  • use words like let’s start, make it happen, go for it, the bottom line, let’s go
  • prize adaptability and self-sufficiency
  • are adaptable, charming, persuasive
  • have the ability to be firm and direct
